Single Static Caravans
These are the smallest types of static caravan, and are often 10 to 12ft wide, although they can be as large as 13-15ft.
Single static caravans are suitable for singles or couples, to house staff or for temporary accommodation during renovations.
Typically, single static caravans are available as:
- Small single units: These can be up to 28 feet long and 10 feet wide. They typically have two bedrooms and can accommodate up to four people comfortably.
- Standard single units: The most common size is around 35 feet long and 12 feet wide. They usually have two or three bedrooms and are suitable for four to six people.
- Large single units: Larger single unit caravans can be up to 40 feet long and 14 feet wide. They typically have three bedrooms, but some larger models can have up to four bedrooms. These caravans are best suited for larger families or groups, as they can comfortably accommodate six to eight people.
Twin Unit Static Caravans
Twin units are normally two single caravans joined together on-site, making them double the width of a standard caravan. Twin unit caravans are typically 28ft to 50ft long and are excellent permanent homes. These caravans can offer a much larger living area, with some models even providing up to five bedrooms. They’re great for larger families or those who want more space and comfort.
We have a range of new and used static caravans which we can transport to any site within 100 miles of Horsham.

Log Cabins or Lodges
Static log cabins are simply static caravans with timber cladding on the exterior to look like a traditional log cabin. Lodges are similar, but instead of timber, they are typically finished with metal, plastic or wood effect cladding.
Lodges are luxury caravans and typically have central heating, double glazing and are energy efficient. Their sizes can vary, although they’re typically slightly smaller than a twin unit but larger than standard units.
Things to Consider About Static Caravan Sizes
As there are a range of sizes, it is important to double check that the size of the plot can facilitate the size of the caravan.
If you are planning on having an off site static caravan, it’s important to consider if the land you have is suitable for pitching and is level. We offer
siting services so please contact us if you have any concerns. We have also created a guide for assessing access on site.
The minimum access size to your property / land needs a 2 foot or 0.61 metres total clearance of the caravan for it to be sited.
